I've removed the poll, whilst I think its ok to discuss preferences here I do believe that there's very often confusion about transexauality, many people confuse TV/TS/TG there are very big differences and some very clear legal definitions, although these vary depending upon where you live. I don't usually post links to our other sites but I'm making an exception in this case as this article is pretty informative and relevant to this thread http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/shm/transgender.html
In the past people would volunteer, the name would be put up and discussed and then we would decide if the candidate should be given a trial, if they did ok they would join the mod team. We have been pretty lucky in that there's never been a shortage of people willing to help out and alos very fortunate in that some time back we had plenty of moderators with the right attributes in place to be able to spot candidates and propose them, so now the process is slightly different, when mods are needed the team looks for candidates and proposes them based upon how they interact, its not limited to the chatroom, more than one moderator has been selected based upon wha they do elsewhere on the site.

Collins dictionary says:censorship:the practice or policy of censoring films, letters,or publications,this is not why Im here, I want this site to be for people who have an Independent mind.
give the star back................

Censorship doesn't work, but we will remove things from time to time that have no place in here, its no secret that some think that I've been wrong in the past for taking away stars, but all I'd say to that is that they're not in my position and able to make an informed decision.
Stars get handed out, taken back, sometimes handed out again and thrown back.
At the end of the day decisions are made on whats best for the site and in some cases for the people involved, the selection or deselection of moderators is not a subject for discussion in here, anyone can nominate a person for moderation and if they layout a good case it will be reviewed, at the moment I think the mod team in place can take pretty good care of things so were not actively recruiting.
They certainly have done outstanding work on these events, the admin team have always and will continue to support them. So far as mod selection and deselection goes its not the topic for here, moderation has nothing to do with popularity, its about many things and being a moderator does not mean that you are a better or worse member than anyone else, it certainly can involve a lot of grief and be tedious at times, but its not for everyone.
On sites like this there's always rumours and speculation, things always work out in the end. This was a site with a lot of problems a year back and its come on in leaps and bounds, the mod team have done a great job in making it a better place getting shot of fakers and trying to make sure that everyone sticks to the rules. The social side of the site is growing as well with more people organising events, as admins we do need to put some more tools in place to make it easier. For our part we also need to speed things up here, moving the chaservers to the UK helped, but the site is still running in the USA, within the next few weeks we hope to move it to our new servers at a data center in the UK, that should make everything quicker and more reliable. I don't know what these rumours are, but there's a high probability that most are bollox or exagerated, if in doubt ask as a specific question very often gets an honest answer.
This area of the forum is for anything holiday related, in particular anything useful to the members of this site.
It isn't a place for people to promote a business or post spam, this area of the forum will be monitored and action taken if its abused.
So what can it be used for;
1) If you are going somewhere, or thinking of going somewhere and have a question to ask, want to meet up with others out there, or want to know what action is available.
2) If you have been somewhere and have some tips on any of the above.
3) Venues, clubs, holiday resorts for swingers in exotic or overseas places
We don't mind the odd link or url pointing to something useful, so long as its relevant, if its a blatant attempt to promote a business or another site, it will be removed, if in doubt drop me a pm me to ask if its ok to post it here.

I don't mind people discussing clubs in the UK or anywhere in the world, the issue is when people come here to promote their clubs and start spamming the forum or other parts of the site, it was quite right for the link to be deleted under the current rules but its one of those areas where we do need to be a bit lenient as its in the interest of the members here to allow such discussions. Until we have something in place here's a link to the clubs section on our other site, it also has reviews so you will be able to see what others think; http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/clubs/index.html
Chat logs tell the true story, if you weren't there then you wouldn't really know. What some consider a craic we consider a break of the sites rules, one rule break too many in this case.
There was another issue with the videos fro some members unrelated to 3G, would you let us know if you are still having issues as we have made a configuration change today.
Quote by user=bipaddy
Bicur, this is not just a 3G prob, the site has become busy, the servers can not cope with the demand, this happened on UK site Two years ago, the UK site now have 4 Servers to cope with the extra traffic/ x Pads

Loads isn't an issue, also that UK site is one of ours so we know all about it.
The issues Friday afternoon and evening were down to a configuration issue that wasn't resolved until later in the evening.
Try something like this; Dear Sir / Madam, RE: Network Traffic Shaping I frequently use an online chatroom which makes use of live video streaming. I can't currently connect to the chatroom and the website support has advised me that my ISP (yourselves) is blocking the traffic on the specific ports required for the chatroom to operate. To be specific; RTMP protocol on Port 1935. I would be grateful if you could allow this connectivity so I can continue to use the services of the website. Kind Regards Those may or may not be the cause but we do know that 3G are aware that they have issues for people using things like this and also online gaming sites, every person that complains makes the case stronger for them to sort it out.
Just as there are genuine males, females and couples that use the site as intended there are males, females and couples that don't and can fall into the category of harrasing, abusing or just being annoying, it doesn't matter which type the rules are there for good reason and if everyone followed them this would be a better place. If any member feels that a rule has been broken there are many ways to report it, every report gets looked at and if appropraite action is taken.

An interesting thread and a subject maybe worthy of debate, but I think its worth clarifying things from our end first. We have the no drugs rule for two reasons, legality and in the case of some 'legal' drugs spammers, I'm not going to list them here as I'd rather that they don't appear on the site, search engines crawl and if this site pops up in the results for woodagra or anything else then the spammers appear setting up fake profiles etc Its a swinging site and we'd like to keep it that way. Now there may be things that don't fall into illegal or spamming that are drug related, but we have found it better from past experience that its better to have a no drugs related policy with regards to what we allow here, its not swinging and whilst we have nothing against freedom of speech we would rather not spend countless hours trying to split hairs about what is and what is not ok, no drugs related posts please. This area of the forum does say Anything Goes, maybe we should rename it to Anything Goes within the site rules but everyone does agree to the site rules when they sign up and I can't see the point in doing that, we do delete and lock threads when we need to but I can honestly say that if someone started a thread titled 'A hundred things we don't like about this site' and it wasn't total bollocks we'd probably let it run. Someone mentioned alchhol, it maybe worse in many ways but it isn't illegal to talk about, having said that if someone comes on the site pissed out of their head and starts breaking the rules we will take action. >> Added, there's a lot of stickies in here, I think a bit of consolidation would make things better, thanks for pointing it out smile
Well at least people are starting to use the forum more now, it was pretty dead 6 months back and one thing I do know that is when people start posting there will be those that drop in the off topic response, also with some threads people lose interest and they die. Some threads change topics or branch off, thats what a forum is and so long as the dialogue is going and it don't get insulting then its probably not a bad thing.
Although having said all of that there are times when its not ok for example when things get personla, the forums are a place to exchange views, not bitch at each other, there isn't actually a place on the site to do this.
As this thread takes another turn, I thought I'd pick up on this bit;

Also its up to the admin team to market the site well,links on other sites sex industry(yes swinging is the sex industry too) is something where word of mouth is not like your at your local hairdressers and saying "hey check out swing4ireland".Its important that those that leave are replaced as not all that leave will stay away because the curiousity will built up and we'll have a positive should do statistics checks on numbers and go from there,time and cost permitable that is.

Its a good point and something that we work on when we can, the thing is with links is that in the long term they should be natural if possible, hopefully other sites in the right area will link back here if they think that its useful to their members and some people that use this site may add a link from the places they control if its allowed and appropriate.
There's lots of things that could be done here to try and get people interacting, this is one that we put in place, a lot of social networking sites do this and similar happens in many other ways on the internet, which when you think about is a load of hyperlinks that enables people to go from one place to another, on a smaller scale thats why its there, to encourage people to explore the site, pretty much in the same way that sites link to other sites with a link from their site saying I like that site.
If you think of it as a vote, maybe that would make more sense, even though its not, its a feature thats in place here and I'd need to hear why anyone thinks its a bad thing before we would consider changing it.
Everyone has to follow the rules and its what everyone agrees to when they join the site. Very much like the law, ignorance is no excuse, after all most of our rules are written around acting in a way that shouldn't cause offence to others. Anybody can report abuse, thats why we have the support ticket system, the moderators should and will take action if they spot these things or if its brought to their attention, bear in mind though that they may be dealing with other issues at the time, may have posted a note in the mods lounge for a log check or for other opinions, or they may have been dealing with the issue by whisper with the offendee. The mods objective isn't always to provide a public demonstration of action being taken, although sometimes this may be necessary. They're on the front line and trying to keep order, its not always easy, if something gets missed feel free to report it, if someone is out of order its better for everyone if action is taken.
One thing about human nature is that we like to explore, thats one of the reasons that I don't think any restriction on people opening new rooms should be put in place, also its something that people like to do, hence the number of them that gets opened. As pointed out, unhosted rooms do need to be closed as the person opening the room has a responsibility to ensure that they are run in accordance with the rules of the site, when they leave it could turn into a free for all and thats when rules get broken.
Its the private rooms only option here, thats the way it works, if people go on cam anyone in the chatroom would be able to see it. I know other sites do this, some may think were wrong in doing things this way, just in the same way that we don't restrict anyone from any public room in chat, but thats the way we think it should be done. If someone breaks the rules report them by all means, but if you dislike someone just ignore them.
This part of the forum is for all things dogging related for all of you doggers. Feel free to post threads about; How you got on at locations If you are looking for others to go dogging with Dogging Hints and Tips If you are arranging a dog and meet don't paste the exact time and place otherwise you will get all sorts of people turning up that you probably don't want. But if it is details of a location then it needs to go in the Dogging Locations Section; http://www.swing4ireland.com/dogging.html
If we had a thread like that for one thing all people at the meet would have to be ok with it, discretion is important, a bragging thread would be a bad thing. Also, it would have to be just that, no banter, no name and shame type threads, ie we would have to moderate every post to ensure that it was ok.
