hey count me in for that
All, Thanks for the responses! I think we definitely have enough interest. I am working to see if i can find a suitable location, sorry am a bit reticent to have ye all over to my house this early!! Thinking ratios - i dont want too many single guys and we have got a good few responses, what sort of ratio's would the couples be happy with? Say if 4 couples possibly 2 or 3 singles or whats the best numbers? Cheers! Asmav
yup definitely up for meet and to cork looking for some fun
Asmav, your headline add says meet and greet, however your most recent response suggests a party, i think you should clarify what you are organising. Meet and greets don't usually tend to have strict quotos.
Clarifying - Its a meet and greet, not a party. That said, I don't want to fill it with single males and have the couples completely outnumbered. The comment was a basis for my trying to understand peoples expectations rather than being unclear as to what was happening. Hope that helps.
a meet and greet with 4 couples and 2-3 singles = 11 people... Most meet and greets have from 50-100 at them.. that's why it seems like a party... If you go to the trouble of organising one, you should try get a large number, in my experience , you could have 20-30 couples, 10-15 single girls and 10-15 single guys.. Its much better craic, lots of people to talk to and have the banter with. with a very small group, if 1-2 couples or singles don't get on, makes for a difficult night... this is only my suggestion...
Hi there Meet and Greets are always welcomed by members. I have one concern and wish to voice it whether its seen as provocative or not ... Asmaz ... you are not verified and you dont have comments and are a member here since 07.. Maybe have a read of this http://www.swing4ireland.com/Dt9tFX2ftOP6oZbt this is an exert from it .......... Fancy organising a meet & greet? Firstly, does anyone on here know you? You will have to be known as an active member on this site before people can trust you to organise a meet & greet properly. Remember, people travel all over the country to attend these and spend a lot on travel and hotel costs. They won't do that to attend yours if you are not known. Also, you should be a good organiser and make sure you have enough spare time to do it properly. Id def be up for it ..if you get verified etc .. best of luck with it x
Hi Asmav
Well done for taking some initiative; as it is your first event and you seem to intend keeping it on a smaller scale you might want to consider treating it as a social event as opposed to a meet 'n greet.
From my perspective, as host of a Meet 'n Greet you have a certain level of responsibility to me, namely that of the event being discreet and secure and a good mix of profile statuses. Previous Meet 'n Greets have proven so successful as the host/s/ess/esses have taken this responsibility so seriously.
Maybe consider the option of an informal mingler, or even the option of setting up a regular mingler group. Members could join your group or even co-admin it and give input or support. You may be able to draw some inspiration from previous endeavours like the 'Cork First Friday Club' where members could come together at a Cork venue just to have a few drinks and the craic.
I agree that comments and verifications are a big consideration to some members, but not necessarily all. The mingler would address this for you, and also provide you with the verifications that others might require for future events. As it stands now, from my location, I'm not sure I'd commit to that distance of travel as you now stand. I'm afraid some of us are too used to members being hugely enthusiastic about events or ideas only for these to fizzle out with no outcome. If you're going to do it, then do it! If not stop talking (with all due respect).
These are my own personal opinions.
Think you need to do a little more research into the meaning of a meet and greet and the meaning of a party . I would have to agree with all the comments above, your not verified, your confused as to what it is you want to do, Party or meet and greet. If you want to be taken seriously for either one you need to go to someone elses party and or meet and greet, get verified and let others know your genuine can be trusted etc. We wouldnt pay money or travel that far for one of your parties or meets and greets on your current status, but good luck on your ventures lol
