Just wondering... Now more of this site is being accessed by none paying member's it seems that the site is becoming less value for money. Maybe Admin can put up a "P" for Paying members and an "F" for Freeloaders against profile names in chat, so those who pay will know the difference (unless they have extras of course) if this is going to be the norm from now on. Also would it not have been courteous to inform paying members (afterall thats where s4i make their money) of the changes besides us going into chat and finding ourselves straight into a new lobby named "Novices". Change is a good, Knowledge is power and Information is liberating..... Also is the site going to get "Shrep" like it's Sister Site (www.swingingheaven.co.uk) as its a good way to determine the genuine people (Just a thought, for all it may be worth!) Maybe Admin can answer these questions and also if other members wishes to add to this then please feel free to do so. Looking forward to all responses.
I'd suggest you read the profiles, if you note the joined date that will most likely answer your question without the necessity of referring to people as 'freeloaders'. I'm stunned by the negativity. New people, new chatters, new swingers........ where's the harm? The new members here do not have the same access as everyone else, Freebie members cannot:
*View cams
*Initiate a whisper
*Move to any other room, including private rooms
*View pics set to adult in profiles or enlarge pics
*Send mail
If you don't wish to be in a room with non-paying members, as paying members you have the facility to change rooms. I think the initiative of providing access on a limited basis to encourage new members to join and stay is of us have enjoyed free proiles ourselves at one stage or another.
There is absolutely no negativity on our behalf Midnight, just airing our views, if we may? It is an open Forum for discussion right? "F" could also stand for a Free-member in a key to peoples payment status in the chatrooms. Someones join date does not state if they are a full paying member or not. Or is that also a new change thats been brought in???
Any changes to the room is to encourage new members, new chatters and new people into the lifestyle, which cannot be deemed anything but a positive. The 'free' users have a very limited access to the site and to give them a taste of what is all about is a very positive move on the sites behalf. As Midnightchat has already stated above the limits that freebies have in regards to using the site. Any move from the site to initiate new people coming online can only be viewed as a very positive move, to the benefit of all users. Novice room is now the default room to which every user enters if however you prefer to move to Newbies or The Pool or which ever lounge that of course is your own perogitive.. Heres to new things, and welcoming a whole new set of people to our site smile
No the join date does not confirm that they are free members, but at that stage if you wish to initiate contact and seek confirmation from them if they are in fact fully subscribed its a less offensive action than branding profiles with letters. I for one would object to this if it were applied to my profile as my payment arrangement with this site is between me and Admin and no one else.
I absolutely would not dispute your right to air your opinion, but my opinion is that it read in a negative tone especially to any new members who are now signed up and considering committing to the site fully. As members you are absolutely entitled to query the changes, but as Tempt said, céad míle fáilte novices. X
Oh yes temptress, you mention Positivity there and we totally have to agree with you on that ... But would it not be encouraging to acknowledge people who enter the room including older and new members and make everyone feel welcome there? A little hello costs nothing but goes a long way in feeling like your part of the community here! As two "Site Moderators" with the ability to view profiles indepthly and see if people are paying members I can understand some of your views, but I am wondering if any other member would like to see a key (or some icon) in chat where you can distinguish between paying member's and guest's as we sure would. Thank you Midnightchat for clarifying what the new changes are and now aleast other users will have the knowledge of the site alterations. Here Here .... Bring on the fresh meat innocent rotflmao
Everyone should have to pay for subcription in my opinion
Jilly, the intention is that the majority of new users will like what they see in chat and join up. As we've said, they have very limited access.
We don't agree with the free trial members either seems a desperate attempt by the owners to get new members but it will have the opposite effect as it will increase the messers and pichunters . We also think it will lead to the chatrooms and people on cam being open to unwelcome comments as the freebies wont care if they are banned . We shall see how things go but would be unlikely to rejoin if the changes are maintained .
Have to agree with tonysue post.....I see now that the room has defaulted to novices for everyone so the onus is now on paying members to go to another rooms....not sure this change has been thought out ...... can admin post on forum to explain the changes out of courtesy....this is NOT resistance or against anyone just an opinion to which were entitled J&J

The freebie members cant view cams or send pm's to other people. They can only chat in open chat and can only respond to a whisper if a full member has whispered to them in the first place.
They are restricted to the one room also, while full members can use any other room or set up their own if they wish.
So really free members have less access to chat then they do on some of the other sites that are being talked about.
It's like any change it takes a little while to get used to it, but hopefully for most it will be seen as a good thing in the long run.
maybe something should be done about the number of members? 135,050, is not an accurate number. Dormant member profiles need to be deleted. I would say if 1% of that total are active,is even pushing it.
I agree that dormant or fake profiles need to be deleted. As for the changes with every site new members are needed to keep the site going. I think the novices room is probably a bad name and should have been named something else like the lounge . We need to be careful that we don't create a clique as swinging is quite scary for new people and be inclusive. The more popular the site is the more fun we can have. We do rely heavily on the mods to keep the chat rooms sane which they do with great aplomb. I haven't seen anyone being abused in ages smile I do think an announcement on the forum prior explaining the changes and the reasons for the change would have done a lot to allay any fears or apprehension.

Here Here  Well said yummymummy
I miss the old site and the craic and banter that used to be found on it, between the forums and chat. Maybe an influx of new members is whats needed to bring this place back to life and get people back into it
Good to see this bumped...I guess the free members trial period has no time limit in regards to you like what you see and then subscribe....or for instance your free 3 months trial is over ....then again they wud come back with new name for free again ...deep pockets short arms ...so then it begs the question again everyone should pay to have access lol

you've been advised that there are upcoming site changes, patience is a virtue, case closed.

Said all the way back in April! dunno Can Admin not see the exodus to the "other" site???
Patience is a virtue BUT Procrastination is the thief of time!!!! "case closed"

Outside access to stuff on this site is limited, NO ONE can see private pictures OR any photos that have been classified as Adult.

If Photograpgh can not be viewed by "Outside" when classed as "Adult", then why can't parties and forums be placed in this category (afterall this is an Adult Site!). The Moderators forum area is not accessible to any member, whether paying or not so why can't this technique be applied to these so only paying members have access?

new swingers........ where's the harm?

Still waiting to see what good has come out of it blink But then again there is no rush to a bad market rotflmao
I thought the mods had done a pretty good job of clarifying the limitations of what the new members can see, we changed what they were able to do some time back, this was in response to suggestions from members here, it seemed like a good idea so we thought we would give it a try, I can't see any reason to change it back as when I way out the pro's and con's there are more reasons for it to remain as is, however I think your point about saying something before the change is valid. As to the future, I know some time back we told you that changes are coming, that is still the case, however even with our full team of developers working on the new framework it has taken a lot longer than we would have liked, the good news is that its all ready and is being rolled out, the first deployment was in Canada ( swingingheaven.ca ), a whole lot of testing was carried out and the site is pretty much as we want it now, feel free to go over and join to have a look if you're curious, it is all free at the moment. Were currently converting our New Zealand site kiwiswingers.co.nz, we decided to do that one before swing4ireland as its quieter and should there be any areas that need fixing we can pick them up there rather than have anything untoward happening here, I can't give time scales for when the changes get rolled out here as we haven't finished converting ready to update the kiwi site yet, but as soon as that's done I'll be able to give target date, my best guess would be 6 to 8 weeks for here. I don't really see a problem with those that pay having something shown on their profile either, provided that its done in a positive way, but there may be those here that think otherwise, so perhaps if anyone does they'd share their thoughts before we make any changes. On our UK site those with Extras have an Extras badge on their profile, we could do something similar if the feedback is positive, although it would make sense for any changes like that to be rolled out at the same time as the new framework to prevent things slipping further to the right.
Great response admin sheds a good bit of light on things to come.... maybe a vote from site members on the whether to make forum..swing parties section etc private to paying members only and not visble to the public, this might give yous an insight on what people feelings are on this before the changes are rolled out. I appreciate temps point on this that the media think were sex starved and by making it private would feed into that, however I think it wud make meets and partys a little more secure (never going to be 100% risk free) and give party organisers more confidence to continue organising such events. As party hosts... the auto responses that go out like the reserve email could maybe be worded a little differently or perhaps the option to put in our own wording on the auto-responses would be a helpful addition to that great section.

Thank you very much Admin for your feedback, showing us you are also actively involved here. We're sure most members will be grateful for your reply.
Guess more suggestions would be appreciated by you in order to make this site more appealing and secure for all and as Jilly says "maybe a vote from site members, whether to make forum for parties etc. private to paying members only, and not visible to the public" would be a good start ... dunno majority rules we guess!
We've taken a look at the above mentioned Canadian site and as members ourselves of your sister UK site 'swingingheaven.co.uk' we feel this would be a better framework for you to work off as there are lots more available there for paying members, just our opinion for you.
As you mentioned yourself 'Positivity' is one of the key words here, if more people were to practise this then there wouldn't be half the hassle/quibbling there is between members.
All thats left for us to say now is we really look forward to seeing the new site changes and hopefully the site will return to the happy chatty place it was a number of years ago!
Happy Swinging All worship
Thanks for the feedback smile We have a long list of things we want to change after we've rolled out the new framework to all of the sites and when the time comes, I'd expect a lot more dialogue, surveys etc from us. As always suggestions to make things better are always welcome, although its not always easy to put them in place straight away and not all will fit in. With regard to making the forum private, I just can't see that being a good thing for the site, it gives out the wrong impression, many people looking to join, for whatever reason, be it curiosity or just something they like to do, would look at the forum to get a feel for the place and how active it is, a site with a locked off forum could be mistaken for one of those cookie cutter sites that are just set up for the purpose of making people spend money. I still think the parties should be public, however, perhaps an option for the organiser to make the event information not be shown in public may work. One big change with the new framework is that all profiles cannot be viewed unless your a member and logged in.
***One big change with the new framework is that all profiles cannot be viewed unless your a member and logged in.*** Delighted that Admin are making this change. Does this mean that public guest viewing the forums will not be able to click on the Avatars of profiles to view them? I hope this is the case. I'd also like to suggest that when you click on the 'attend' button in the parties section that you can 'opt out' of it showing on your profile. I like to keep my plans to myself as I feel with this on show on my profile it opens the floodgates of "Oh your going to that party" "Where is it?" "Do you need a plus one?" As profiles are public at the moment it's not very discreet having you're attending a party and being able to see some of the party details ie date and general location in the Swinger Parties section which is also public. I'd also like to suggest that M&G/Socials be given there own section under the Entertainment section along with Swinger Parties. It would be great if M&G/Socials, Swinger Parties were viewable to full paying members only. Anyways just a few thoughts.
Just curious to know how many of the free trialist's have actually paid up to use the site ?
Our new site is testing at the moment and should be live very very very soon..
