I keep it 100 percent real on this site, as the man above can testify to..lol........
I don't feel the need to get personal with everyone I meet, but there are some people I would count as friends, and feel at ease in their company so can relax and be myself..
Chatrooms perhaps see me a little more flamboyant, but I think most of us are the same......
Have been accused in the past of being too outspoken in Forums, but I was brought up to speak my mind, and if I did upset anyone, I always aplogised..
basically what you see on here is what you get in real life too. Steve and I are very genuine, as the people we have met from the site can attest to. I dont have time for players and messers......and try to be honest and upfront with people I meet on here ......xxxxanny
What you see is what you get...I don't like fakers, they will always be found out, sooner or later. I like to stay real, it gets too complicated otherwise trying to remember what you said to whom. Nice, simple and uncomplicated :rose:
For my part, I don't feel the need to take part in polls that question the reasons for being on this site! in fact the nature of this poll in my eyes, I believe is an intrusion, that may lead fellow users to feel threatened!
NO one member on this Site, ADMIN, MODS and users have to justify their existence on here, Nor determine what category they fall into!

I might add, I am Genuine, I meet and continue to do so, I have built up a great numbers of friends on S4i, Some that I would love to see more of and some that I am dying to meet (you all know who I mean)
This is a great site, full of great people, those same people outway the negative side,,,,, but we never talk negative, just look forward......

Ah I think I'm the same here as I am off line ...and I have to add in Titans defense , this thread is just a question and if people don't wish to answer they do not have to so in no way is it an intrusion and it is not questioning peoples reasons or asking for any justification for them being here hes only asking a question like a lot of people do in the forums , not asking for any ones personal details or acting in any threatening way to members, with all due respect padds you have jumped to the wrong conclusion and just ran with it
1. the question was in no way asking why people were here or what category they fitted in ,
2. A lot of people find the forums fun and part of their swing experience (that's why people post ) the site is growing and has a diverse population .. however a pole such as above is not going to insult or cause unrest among any particular group
4.A pole with unlimited options defeats the purpose of a pole
5. your post doesn't come across as controversial .. its comes across as argumentative .. simply for the sake of it

I try to be the real me. For better or worse. To me it's all about honesty.
I don't want to deceive anyone. What's the point? If you were to meet someone you don't want them to be totally thrown aback by something unexpected.
That said...even in real life situations, we tend to adopt a certain aspect of our personas when we are in different situations and with different people and in the different roles we play in our lives...parent, partner, business person, etc. But hopefully, I come across a genuine because that's what I strive to be.

Good point for discussion. Ive met some lovely people here who I have become friends with. Yet to embark on other high seas but I dont make a secret of that, and anyone who knows me knows Im sound.
I think Im bolder in chat than I am in real life..... But thats ok because Im exploring my Dark Side.

While I think most of us would like to think we are the same person here as in real life,,I think we do develop a “cyber †style that’s an addition to our personalities.
Not necessarily a bad thing,,,but this is a Swing site, so I would imagine we portray ourselves in the best light possible.
We all of us, being human, have negative traits, and who wants total strangers to see that if we are trying to make an impression,,in some ways it can be like an interview ?
When we get to know people from regular chatting, and possibly meet them in real life, we can see and gauge each other as real human beings.
How many of us for example, have met people from here, that we have chatted to for ages, think we’d get along , yet a face to face meet tells us we wont, or vice versa?
I for one know that I can come across as a different person here than real life, in some ways I can find it much harder to initiate a conversation with a stranger in a pub /club etc, than I do here.
So do you get the real me here,,,probably not,,not much different I hope tho !
Interesting question, as I think we all, to some extent have a "cyber persona"... perhaps a bit like the "phone voice" ... however I think through the chatroom & forum posts it is possible to get an impression of a person... that said nothing beats that face to face meeting ... you may hide behind a profile, be different in chat but it is difficult to maintain the "not real you" when 1 on 1.
As for me i think most will confirm that what you see in S41 is what you meet.
This is me no this is me. Feck it they are all me. We all bring out different facets of our personalities depending on who we are talking to or trying to impress or chat up. The main thing for this site is please dont lie to people if you have no intention of ever meeting person or couple dont give them the impression you will. We are all here to have some fun. We all wear masks and it doesnt matter who the other person actually sees as long as you are honest in your intentions.

I like to think I am real both on and off. However, I will admit that I can be very nervous when meeting people, which is strange, as I am a people person.
