Well I'd like to add my own feelings and observations to the mix here....after reading the replys in this thread it seems that the opinions are generally split between the "yes it's 100% me" camp and the "I'm bolder than in real life" posse. While not casting apsersions on the 100%ers, I think (as someone pointed out) that we all have our "game face" - this applies as much to real life as it does to here....we all, to a greater or lesser degree, show people the sides of us that we think they will enjoy and relate to, and are appropriate for the situation. There are somepeople on here that hide completely behind a swinging persona, an alter ego if you will, but as long as they are consistent in that persona I don't think it really does any harm - if you are talking to someone online and they are bold and brash, as long as they can keep that up if and when you meet them face to face it doesn't really matter what they are like away from that situation. A lot of people will use the site to express themselves in terms and ways that they wouldn't usually do....that's part of it's appeal. Speaking for myself I think I'm probably a lot easier to get on with on here than IRL....so I'd have to say that yes, I definately wear a face for the site, but I also try to be consistent in that - the folks who have met me are better able than me to judge if I succeed or not.
