it ok for a woman to ask man to marry
Have to agree with Mid on this one. I mean come on, remember it was women who used to travel to the north for birth control years ago when condoms were illegal in Ireland. They faced the chance of being searched, arrested and imprisoned upon arrival home. A strong woman is a sexy woman. Are you really asking that question or is it a wind up? If my wife had asked me before I had asked her, Id have been delighted.
answer to the OP Question: Yes of course it is ok for a woman to ask a man to marry her. if she chooses to do that then she is comfortable with it so whats the problem. Go for it. Worst he can say is no and then sure you know where the whole relationship is going then.
In response to other posts. It's not a gender thing that only men can ask women to marry. Or if people think a man should ask as oppossed to the woman, its not derogatory to females. But some women deep down still have a little bit of that fairytale feeling and would like to be surprised by their other half and be asked 'will you marry me?' The other side too is I have a close friend who asked her boyfriend to marry her, he said yes. all good.....but then she told me a year later she had always wondered afterwards would he ever have asked her to marry him. a question that niggled at her for a long long time. Again the fairytale is always there in a woman to a certain extent.
