Photos will be deleted if they contain any of the following:
* Anyone who looks under the age of 18.
* Contain little or nothing of the account holders.
* Photos that are the same or near enough the same as the ones that already exist or existed on profiles.
* Children can be seen - anywhere and in any context.
* People can be seen in the background.
* Animals can be seen.
* Any contact information such as an email address, URL or mobile/telephone number is shown.
* They are too small to be useful or if they have not been cropped correctly.
* If the photo is of poor quality, for example it is too small or too dark.
* The photo is blurred or too difficult to make out.
* They are deemed to be too obscene or inappropriate for this site.
seems to me having a photo on your profile that is a cartoon or animation and not the person or persons who are the account holders is covered by the rules above, should this not be enforced?
There are very good reasons to NOT use a face pic as your main/only profile pic:
1] Non-members and the general Web Audience can view this site and most members here would not want their face to be spotted here.
2] It is against the rules to use pics that are too erotic/explicit as your Avatar Pic and the cartoon type serve this purpose better - being neutral and inoffensive. Please note that under copyright rules, some cartoons are actually illegal to use for ANY purpose - including anything from Disney.
If you have face pics on your profile, as well as the other more general, comic/cartoon type then there's no suggestion that the profile user is not who they show themselves to be. I would agree that to have ONLY a cartoon pic as your only pic would be undesirable.
I reckon this will just be ignored by the powers that be though?
