I know this topic has been raised before but I couldnt find it when I went looking for it. My reason for bringing up this topic....when I probably should have put it in the 'let off steam' thread, is as I feel very strongly about it. Today someone made a comment with regards to the fact my child arrived back at my house today 5 minutes after a friend from here had left. Bare in mind that the person who left my company is a male friend and was not 'meet'. The comment made was...."sure he has probably seen lots of your 'friends' at this stage!!!!" Never was I so offended and enraged by anything!!!!!!!! My child in all his 8 yrs has seen me with one man....my ex....who i was engaged to...was living with. I have males friends that my child has met and knows as being platonic friends who have been part of his and my lives for a long time now. But NEVER not once, have i ever had anyone over for a coffee or more when my child is in the house. This is even including the years before I ever joined swing4. I respect my child, his space and our relationship too much. They only men he will see me with are purely platonic friends or if I am in a serious relationship. You might say.....once they are asleep that they wont know..... I still dont care.....my son, i could go into his room...turn the light on....go looking for clothes in his wardrobe.....put away toys....and he still wouldnt wake up.....but this does NOT mean I would bring someone into our house while he is there. I am sorry if this is going to offend some people....or a lot of people.....its just one thing I will never do.
Mona Fecking cheek i can't believe that comment was made to yea in open chat Theres two points i just like to make to yea. 1. I been chatting to yea now for quite a while and i think that your a respectable lady with a strong head on your shoulders and a very good parent to your son. 2. Who ever made this comment has no right hun to judge you on what you do in your private life on or off the site its none of there does really annoy me sometimes that people will go to such lengths to undermind other people in the chatroom.
Well said Biggles well said. And Mona, he's right you are a strong minded person with a good head on your shoulders. You seem more classy than to have someone over when your child is there. We wouldnt even enter a house to meet a couple if there were kids in the house. Regardless if they were sleeping or not. Shows your good morals and parenting skills. Well done.
Mona's right this topic was raised before and it became quite heated. I would suggest that it is borne in mind that despite our opinions on the matter people here arrange meets with children in the house at the time. I am sure it is done with great consideration and it is kept in mind at all times that there are children in the house.
I had issue with the post last time as it took on a judgemental tone and almost attacked those who chose to meet with children present. I would not hold myself as being so without reproach that I was eligible to judge any one else's morals or parenting skills. Please bear in mind when posting that you are in fact discussing the actions of other members on this site, members who may be known to us who should not have to defend their parenting choices on a swing site.
Jesus Mid, how can you be so enlightening all the time? I mean you always post the most rounded answers to any issue raised. You really are a true goddess with a better brain than Einstein. You really should work in mediation. You are a great diplomat who's true talents could be used in areas like the middle east. I really have to say that I respect your opinions. I just wish I could see the issues the way you do before I give my two cents. Midnightchat for Uachtarán na hÉireann, and the country will be back on form
I must add here that this was not said to me in the chat room. Whereas I have made the choice to not meet anyone while my child is in the house....it is everyones right to choose whether that is something they want to do. My main issue was that someone assumed wrongly that I expose my child to the fact that I meet people whom I have not been in serious relationships with. And that my child was aware that mammy had male 'friends', albeit nowhere near as many as they thought!
Just sad really that in this, the 21st century, there are still people who appear to think that a female or male cannot have a person of the opposite sex as a platonic friend, guess it shows how blinkered a society we still live in................. sad
EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN OPIONIONS AND IF THEY GOT NOTHING GOOD TO SAY SHOULD KEEP THEIR TRAP SHUT MONA SOUNDS LIKE THE PERSON YA MET SAID THIS blink ANYWAY OPIONIONS ARE LIKE ASSHOLES EVERYONE GOT ONE bolt AND WHOS GIVES A SHIT WHAT OTHERS THINK AND SAY WE KNOW WE MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE WHEN IT COMES TO OUR FAMILIES EVERYBODY DIFFERENT WHAT ONE DOES DOESNT MEAN ANOTHER HAS TO DO THE SAME :taz::taz:

You just quoted vanity without adding your own opinion. What the hell is that about?
Midnight is 100% right, as we where attacked on the last thread on this matter. I am not going to get into a slanging match here but people need to remember we are on a swing site and while morally we may have no problem with the lifestyle others will. So before there are any more posts implying that people who meet with their kids in the house have no morals or are bad parents, stand back and think how it would feel if you where judged by others for swinging.

Raven I didnt mean it like that. What I meant was I wouldnt like to be be in a situation where there is four or more people together naked and in the throws of passion, and then a child wakes and walks into the room. I should have been more clearer
No problem. We have two very young kids so the chance of them walking into the room is slim, but as they get older we will have to look at this lifestyle again and see if it is something we want to keep doing or just get a lock on our bedroom door lol
My Tuppence worth! It is not my businees to tell people how to arrange their meets or who should or should not be in the house when they meet. Nor is it my business to say who they should have looking after their kids when they go out to meets. But I can have an opinion on what we say to each should not make judgemental comments about each other when we don't, and can't, know the circumstances surrounding each individual's lives. Rant over
I reckon that a lot of monas annoyance as well comes for the comment ...."sure he has probably seen lots of your 'friends' at this stage!!!!" Theres such a snidness and meaness to that one comment, simple words can convey such meaning and that one sentance is a perfect example of it, loaded with malice , mona i would have decked the person.
I agree Slightly, but the statement says more about the mentality and demeanour of the person saying it than Mona's personal life. Trust me Mona I can understand why the comment cut you but you know what....... let him mind his own business!
It would be interesting to determine if the person making the comment would turn down the chance to be the friend leaving five minutes before home time due to 'moral concerns'.
Anyways Mona, who was it that said this to you? Was it a guy or a girl?
I agree Slightly. That was mean spirited. Suitable for a divorce attorney or bitter ex deliberately trying to make someone look bad. Sounds like that person Mona is referring to has their own serious hang-ups. That said...married folk have sex...possibly wild monkey sex with their kids in the house all the time. Single parents no different. It's a matter of being discreet. They also have friends over for drinks etc...nothing abnormal for kids to see. It's common sense really. PS Midnight, it's true... we really could use about a hundred or so of you in the government. :sticky:
