from the tv series 'American Gothic'......Sheriff lucas buck....dang evil....great series
And for movie......ohhhh soooomany but Hannibal Lecter, has to be a great baddie.....delectable my dear Clarice...........:devil:mwahhhhhaaaahhhhaaaa....
One man gets both plaudits in my book:
Jack Nicholson.
His performance in "The Shining" had me shivering with horror.
But his character in "A Few Good Men" leaves you wondering about his motives and true nature.
He also makes me laugh out loud in the he's done like "Witches of Eastwick" which let his devilish soul out to play and I love re-watching him with Helen Hunt in "As Good as it Gets".
Anthony hopkins as Hannibal Lechter
really creeped me out xxxxx
James Spader as E. Edward Grey in the wonderfuly erotic film The Secretary..
The film delves into the the mysteroius world of Dom v Sub, the film was nominated for and won many awards, Spader himself not recieving any, but his portrayal of Grey will remain my all time favourite character portrayal...
The sound track for the film was none other than Leonard Cohens Im Your Man ..
Worth having a read of I think..
If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you
If you want a partner
Take my hand
Or if you want to strike me down in anger
Here I stand
I'm your man
If you want a boxer
I will step into the ring for you
And if you want a doctor
I'll examine every inch of you
If you want a driver
Climb inside
Or if you want to take me for a ride
You know you can
I'm your man
Ah, the moon's too bright
The chain's too tight
The beast won't go to sleep
I've been running through these promises to you
That I made and I could not keep
Ah but a man never got a woman back
Not by begging on his knees
Or I'd crawl to you baby
And I'd fall at your feet
And I'd howl at your beauty
Like a dog in heat
And I'd claw at your heart
And I'd tear at your sheet
I'd say please, please
I'm your man
And if you've got to sleep
A moment on the road
I will steer for you
And if you want to work the street alone
I'll disappear for you
If you want a father for your child
Or only want to walk with me a while
Across the sand
I'm your man
If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you
Virgogirl, The Secretary is a great film alright. I never really got into Leonard Cohen but having read the lyrics you posted, think I'll download some of his stuff (ILLegally of course)
I should have made it clearer in my original post that you can nominate WORST screen bad guys. As in hilariously BAD bad guys, who don't intimidate at all and who are less threatening then candy floss.
I'd vote for Mick Jagger's camp turn as a mercenary in Freejack, a sci-fi time travelling yarn with Emilio Estevez, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. As for Sir Mick's performance, all the menace of a wet dish cloth!!
Anything Christopher Walken has been in, I think he's brilliant at menace.
I love The Secretary too. Speaks volumes that none of my friends have seen it but people on this site recognise it immediately.........
Have to agree with Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs .. Cllaaaariiiicccceeeee (ew)
Embarrassed to say but I saw Stephen Kings IT when I was quite young (too young to be honest) and didn't sleep right for weeks after it... to this day clowns still freak me out a bit, but got it on DVD a few years ago.. not so scary now :lol2:
Anjelica Houston in the Witches also quite scary when I was younger - really showing my age now :-o
Anthony Hopkins has a creepiness about him but John Malcovich carries menace off to a T. Incidentally wasn't the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang recently voted one of the scariest bad guys...?
love his song Alleluhah sends chills up my spine when I hear that
