Don't do it is all I can say!
Use the opportunity of having time on your hands to be with your little boy as much as you can. I'm sure he would much rather have you around than 100's of miles away doing something you'd probably come to hate as it would keep you away from him.
He is very young and having a daddy is more important right now than what daddy does for a living. Circumstances always change hun.... hang in there....

OK folks... arrangements are sorted for the 25th Sept. I was thinking of hiring a room, but I really dont want this to feel like a "function", just a damn good birthday piss up!!! So I have a pub in mind for us all to meet at and we'll just take the night as it comes and see what happens.
Just as a note... I hadn't realised that the 25th is the Saturday after Arthurs Day so Dub will be fair busy I guess (book hotels quick!!!)
Anyone who wants to come along please mail me or Tatts or post here, I have a fair list already but I wouldnt want to miss anyone!!!
Looking forward to a great night to remember Andy... see ye there.
Luv an hugs

All I can say is thanks to you all again for all of the kind words and thoughts.
I hadn't realised when I mentioned the 28th that Amber was organising something for that night. I will do my best to be there. But I was thinking that Andy would have been 45 years old on the 26th September 2010 so maybe I should organise a birthday party for him?? What dya think?? Saturday 25th Sepember? Also it gives me a little more time to organise something properly.
Chat to you all soon

Thanks all for your thoughts and sympathy. It all came really quickly at the end, which itself is a blessing. He was up and pottering around over the weekend, so I'm glad that it was only the last few hours yesterday that he needed to be in hospital (as a typical man he hated hospitals and was a terrible patient!!)
To let you all know, there will not be a funeral as it was Andy's wish that his body be donated to medical science. This has been arranged and his remains are being removed to University College Dublin today.
I would however like to arrange a damn good piss up as that is also what he would have wanted. I'm thinking maybe a week on Saturday (as I know many of you will be off to the wilds of Cavan this weekend!!!)
So if you want to come and have a few to remember him (whether you met him or only chatted) keep the 28th free and watch this space for arragements.
Thanks to you all for helping keep me sane over these last few weeks.... and I know you will help do the same in the coming weeks as well.
Luv to you all

andy has just posted room and password in group forum for anyone who wants to play tonight..lol
Thankfully no it wasnt carbolic.... but I do recall the bog roll at grandma's was always Izal....lol....thats if she hadnt cut up last weeks newspapers and hung em on a string in the loo....
My grandma was a mean old bitch...lol...victorian values and all that. Every year when i was a kid I'd watch friends getting spoilt by their grandparents fully knowing that my one present from grandma would be a bar of soap wrapped in a hankerchief. She even used my grandfathers / uncles / her own hankies from previous Christmas presents which had definately sat in a drawer for many years and developed that unmistakable old lady smell. So although my name begins with J the hankies would have an R or D or L embroidered in the corner. Mean old cow..... say no more....
