I always turn up
I have been lucky with the ladies I have arranged to meet over the years with one or two exceptions they have always turned up.
I only have ever had to cancel one meet in my time here and I managed to give her 2 or 3 days notice and we did get together again after that.
I'd say I am the exception here but I think the key is that I take the time to get to know people in the chat room before I make an arrangement to meet them, even for coffee.

Howdy everyone, Im not going to say much here other that I had a great night at the M&G and I think it was just what the site needed and the chat room seems to be more active in the lead up to it and since so it was just the shot in the arm the place needed, so thank you for that Ginger.
On the issue of people reserving places and not turning up therefore leaving the host with the cost of room hire DJ and food might I suggest a paypal arrangement or some other way of charging at the point of registration. I think the site Ginger used for the tickets had a way of charging for the tickets, that way if you are a no show for whatever reason you dont leave the host to carry the cost.

You will generally find if you get the best rate from the internet and pick up the phone and ring the hotel they will at least match it and will often beat it or throw in a free breakfast or do a deal of some sort.
you just got to talk nice to the person answers the phone
