I hope im not too late to throw my bit into this chat.
I have to say that in my experience (and moreso as I grow up), a male womanizer isn't really seen as being that much of an envied guy. Maybe its the people I've hung around with.
Id prefer to be considered to be attractive to women more than just bedding them. That being said, i like sex A LOT and personally want to meet women to sleep with at this moment in life. 
Historically, people did definitely judge women more harshly, but i think men are judged similarly if they are seen to do it in a slimey backhanded way in particular. Fair play if you look like brad pitt and the women want you, but other men tend to look at the more "slick" operators if you will a bit negatively.
I like the idea of both men and women being able to express their desire to have some casual NSA sex and to swing if they are in couples. I guess some people will always be more narrow minded.
But on a final note... nothing turns me on more than a woman who knows how to enjoy her sex and goes out and does that. Its a great turn on.
