As a keen angler, I've often thought that going fishing is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First off you inspect and clean your tackle, carefully pulling back your rod cover and remove any dirt and gunge that may have built up while not in use. Then you extend your rod to its full length and check there is no kinks or wear, particularly at the base where the grip is usually applied. Finally you must have a decent float, the appropriate bait and its most important that you have plenty of shot in your bag.
