Hi all,
Your help would be very much appreciated.
We are going to Amsterdam for a few days in July and are wondering if anyone could recommend a few places to stay, We obviously want to be staying somewhere fairly central within walking distance of dam square, red light district etc.
We also want somewhere reasonable priced as this is only the first part of our travels for the holiday.
Any help would be great. Reply on the thread or PM us
Thanks a mill all

if your are looking for cheap and close and easy to get to and dont mind a hostel then the flying pig hostel is good fun. and its situated near the train station stayed there a few years ago and there is as much fun in the hostel as there is around the area
Heading over in March not booked accomodation yet but everywhere seems around the same price and all is in 5 minutes walking distance of the centre, i believe tram service is dirt cheap and excellent too. If you get any good tips i'd appreciate the heads up. enjoy
hi guys we go twice a year an ave stayed in a few diff hotels if ye r lookin some thing just basic ther is a hotel 83 in the heart of red light nothin fancy but rooms wer clean an tidy or the ibis right b side the train station or live it up an stay at the sofiel b warned lol it aint cheap bin ther
Hotel Cordial...1min walk from dam square...nothin special...bed, bathroom and tv...cheap
Hotel de Gerstekorrel - also stayed in this one too... nice spot
The only place to stay is the Black Tulip Very central, close to station etc, very safe, clean etc. See reviews on Tripadvisor. There are lots of couples who use this hotel. My hubby booked this first and I was very wary prior to trip but we have been a few times and it is great. Room 31 is pure fantasy! Breakfast is delicious and you will meet some interesting characters. Say hello to Ono.
I would recommend the hotel Schiller...It is cheap enough and absolutely lovely rooms and spotless clean...en suite,tv internet etc...24 hr reception with professional friendly staff and walking distance to the town centre and access is easy to red light district etc...Hoping to go back later this year and we will definitely stay there again...Thre are plenty of agencies in the town if you dont prebook who will hv you sorted with accomodation within 5 mins of getting there entirely to your specifications also so could be another way to go if you get flight only over...
