Hosted a party on Friday nite it was great fun and thanks to all who attended, there was a few cancellations or people who expressed an interest in attending, however when i made furhter contact and gave my contact details, they did not follow-up or if they did made an excuse to cancel at short notice. Is this a common problem???????
hi lone yes it can happen as clp or fem gets cold feet thanks again for the party was a great nite hope to come to next one xxxxxxxxxxxxx suzie
you were lucky, at least they gave an "excuse". most just dont bother and not turn up, so yes its common
and the worst offenders are - sorry - guys!
They figure there's going to be no end of guys at a party/meet 'so one less won't matter' and duck out. This does them no good in the long run because they get labelled as time-wasters.

As A general rule of thumb you should invite about 10%more than you expect to attend to allow for cancellations/no shows. Most you will find wont bother to reply saying they can't attend but most of the genuine folks will let you know they can't attend in advance. its just part of the terrain.
Thanks for the replies .............. the fuuny thing was that one fem actually sent an email and asked if there was a cancellation she would love to attend. When i inveted her she didnt reply!!
you should do what i do...i have a list of people who will never be invited to a party again..they know who they are....the up side is i now have a list of people who i know are genuine...they also know who they are
Think it's an age old issue, i can only speak for myself but i've made arrangements to meet a few ppl over the years and been let down a good few times in that time. A few times i've been left waiting for someone at the agreed place other times got a text or an e-mail just before i was due to go out, even took time off to meet people from here, more fool me for doing that i guess, but i know these things happen. I think the guys would say there are a lot of women who are time wasters and the women would say it's the men i think both are true myself.
