Okayyyy this bears repeating once more:
Organisers make arrangements for venue, entertainment, accommodation and food where appropriate, travel and a gizillion other things, just to make it possible for everyone who wants to - can come along, have a brilliant night out, meet lots of friends - old and new - and make some connections for ... maybe more.
Now then - YOU need to do YOUR part too!!!
Watch the "Let's Meet Up" Forum and "Swinger's Parties" Board. This is where the Organisers will post up the notices about what's planned.
The Organisers will specify who the party is appropriate for, and how to get involved.
YOU must respond to the ORGANISER directly in most cases by MAIL on site. If you don't, YOU miss out.
YOU must provide the Organiser with details like phone numbers, e-mail addys and pics so you can be added to the Mailing List for that specific event. If you don't, YOU miss out.
YOU must act on any information the Organiser sends you in the run-up to the event. If you don't, YOU miss out.
YOU must RSVP to the Organiser by the DEADLINE dates set by the Organiser. If you don't, YOU miss out.
The Organiser will forward to you the necessary details of Venue/Time etc including any requirements such as dress code ; BYOB .
If you can't attend - for whatever reason, YOU must let the Organisers know as soon as possible. We know there's times when it's going to happen that something prevents us enjoying our lives at the very last minute - but it's only common courtesy to let someone know you're going to miss the event.
Then it's up to YOU to attend, arriving promptly and mingle. Get to know folks socially, put those faces to the names you chat with in the rooms and forums - and if you're lucky - see who shows an interest in you. If you're shy - then arrange to attend with someone else, have a coffee meet ahead of the meet and then you will both be braver for the main event.
Unless the Organisers has told you specifically it's a 'no rules orgy' Then it's NOT a case of asking every Tom, Dick, Madge or Jane "When are we shagging"
Get a grip! And I mean not of your cock - of your manners!!
- Show DECORUM for the venue . My Mother always reminded us to "Act your age, not your shoe-size". Getting blotto in the first two hours will not only show you up as a drinker, but also ruin any chances you have of making friends and at worst could end up with you being thrown out of the event, never to be asked back again.
- Show DISCRETION - and chat like adults - not like spotty teenagers at the local flea-pit dance or cinema. Just because we're all from site here, does not mean we are any of us sleazy or lewd in public. Remember, what's acceptable in the chatrooms and on cams is generally NOT acceptable out in the real world where the Meets take place.
- Show RESPECT - for the Organisers, helpers, DJs, venue staff and most of all - your fellow Meeters. They've put a great deal of faith in inviting Newbies to the Meets, so make sure you can leave knowing you've done nothing to prevent you becoming a regular, next time. They've also all put themselves out, in time, money and effort, to make a great night for YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE.
GET PRO-ACTIVE - Invites don't come looking for you when you lurk in shadows - SHOW AN INTEREST - then ACT!!!
Marie I am a panther I always lurk in the shadows, its in my nature. And when I act i usually leap on someone from above without warning. Could this be why i dont get party invites.
PMSL - at least you act Mulder, Petal - and you know you're always welcome at the Cork Meets, the pair of you.
We know Marie, and if selling your children for medical experiments had not been made illegal for some inexplicable reason we would attend every meet and greet.
Marie.....well what can I say, but a great post!! As one who hosted a party in the past, and may just do it again, I concur with everything Marie has said here. Personally, when I seek a photo and phone no., it is not to descriminate in any way, rather it is so I know who you are when you arrive. Nothing worse than looking around and wondering, do they look like swingers or what....lol And regarding Decorum.....this is well said and welcomed. We are all here for fun I am sure, but we must also respect those in the general community outside of here, who may be offended, hence, we show discretion and respect for where we are!! So now....let the fun and games commence, and may I finish by saying, I am partial to the odd invite too...:evil2:
Marie.................Fantastic post, reckon it could go as a FAQ tread-This also ans a question on the" site help" all who have not been to a meet and greet(incl me)get to read your tread, and it certainly clears up some of the queries we have but maybe a bit shy to ask................or where to ask,Thanks again Marie and hopefully our paths may cross soon.
PS:
Never be shy to ask a question, of the Organisers. We were all Newbies onceover ourselves - and survived to laugh at the daft things we did in the beginning.
We're all human here and fallible - no-one knows it all - and anyone who thinks that they do will soon find out they fall down somewhere along the line.
Life is not a rehearsal - practice your lines and enjoy the ride!!

Hey loking forward to first meet n greet...keep me in the loop
We would echo marie's sentiments on this issue, as organisers of Meet and Greets etc we know how time consuming it can be when ppl expect you to chase them up for meets, therefore we expect ppl to mail us directly to confirm any interest in any event we are organising, even if they have posted an interest in a thread relating to the event.
Well done you been to a few gatherings i have seen how much effort the organiser's put in and for which i would like to thank them.A bit of respect and manners toward others costs nothing.
Marie Hi, new to this and just wondering can you put me on the right road to joining or gettin an invite to these parties, i'm from the kilkenny area
Hiya there Kkkelvin,
In order to be kept in the loop - you first need to join up to whichever loop you wish to be kept in.
There is no way any organiser can possibly keep track of every single person who wishes to attend an M&G.
Please take note of the point of my original post - YOU need to keep yourself up-to-date with what events are advertised on the forums.
And then YOU need to apply to the relevant organiser to be included - in the loop.
Once YOU start the ball rolling, then you can be kept in the loop.
If you are interested in the events I run for the Cork-All
FirstFridays-club - or the Marie's Meets series of one-off national meets I'm running this year - then you need to apply to join either of my Groups - just mail me and I will send you the relevant links.

Hi how often do meet and greats take place??
Quote by user=marieandu4121

Hiya there Mad2MeetUp
The Cork meets are every month - but there's plenty of folks who run parties and Meets all over the place - just keep an eye on the "Let's Meet Up" Forum and the "Swinger Parties" Boards for notices going up when they are arranged.
