We are here as a couple hoping to make some new friends, have a little harmless fun with some likeminded people. Naughty evenings with another couple ( would have said in but u have to pull out sometime). As long as everyone goes home with a smile on their face then all is well with the world. In the chatrooms to have a laugh a bit of banter with people and maybe someone will say he/she is interesting. Our real lives are serious enough so try to spread a little laughter wherever you go.
PS If you are a serial killer then you might not want to post that on here. Telling people that you are on the site to meet and then brutally murder them is not going to win you any friends and you may find people shun you in the chatrooms.

Why are we here
Mr M ..a very deep philosophical question...but you hit the nail on the head...SEX ... not deep & meaningful relationships ... not endless chat, messages, texts ...just the 3 F's ... friendship, fun & fuck.
Well perhaps I am a being a bit factitious, but as many on here will attest too, there are those that "talk the talk" and those that "walk the walk" ... "the talkers" sometimes appear to be in the majority.
There are many other sites more suited to social networking, but for some the slight sexual tension of Swing is an added bonus & the anonymity of chat allows many to be their other self "the bad twin" ... however for those of us here for fun & sex it can indeed be frustrating putting a great deal of time and effort into developing a relationship with a "like minded person", only to discover their mind is not like yours... and they just want to be friends.
That said I have made many friends on here, some with benefits & others I knew from day one that we would always just only ever be friends and on that basis we can chat, joke, go for drinks & not let sex ruin a good friendship.

That is an excellent point on friendship Alan, a few weeks ago I was chatting to another member and he reckoned that it was not possible to hold a meaningful friendship after you have sex with another person from sites..
Perhaps the knack is to keep everything in a box so to speak, fuck-buddies, friends with benifets, people you just chat with, so then you don't have to make a choice..between friendship or sex..or maybe I am just too feckin long swinging lol... to be able to tell the difference anymore.

Offally you are right but it would be a sad day when after sex it was not possible to maintain a "meaningful friendship after you have sex with another person from sites.." does meaningful = exclusive loving, if that is so they are right as both would want to give up the life style and strat their relationship with a clean slate.
... if it was only ever a one night stand then there was never a meaning or relationship ,but if you enjoy their company they could in timebecome "fuck-buddies, or friends with benifets" , someone you can have a chat or drink with & if the mood takes you SEX .

I got into swinging Kinda by accident a few years ago, (yeah I know...its a long boring story)
This site ticks a few of my boxes and thats what has me here, namely
1. I am very sociable
2. I like an escape from the real world at times, as the OP said we have enough crap going on in all our lives and its nice to get away from it now and then.
3. I am a Horny Fecker:doggy:..there I said it..though I think that goes without saying.
I have been asked will I ever change..i.e get settled..Maybe I will maybe I wont, I am happy enough with my status at the moment, young-ish free and swingle
I find the site a nice getaway that allows me to indulge my adventurous side.
Some complain that this site is not a real swinger site, well to me its all I want from a swing site (I have been on a few of the other more famous ones), I have the craic with those I chat to, I have met loads of cool sexy folks, that to me is swinging in a nutshell for me, and thats why I am here.

On a personal note, I have met some fantastic people from the Site, Like Titan I have frequented other Sites and still do, if only to chats with Pals that are on same site.
New USERS have the perception that S4I is pro dominantly a SHAG SITE, that is not the case, whilst we all signed up with expections, we soon realise that there is a huge population of members that SWING, but at the same time, have become PALS.

I'm predominantly here to pass the time, (yes...during work), browsing galleries, reading what people have to say, and saying hello, I'm not an active swinger, I don't have that much free time outside working hours (..if any, rare occations...who knows) Sometimes I want to meet up, sometimes I don't, all in all it's nice to be among likeminded folk in reality or online, whatever you're into, it's not like everybody I know is interested in swinging, I'm not going to be asking all my mates to join me here anyway...I'm guess I'm just part of the online community here.....I love the whole idea of swinging.
Saying all that, I'm not here to string people along and waste people's time, (I am here to waste a lot of my own time though...during work hours), Yes, I've swopped numbers and played email tennis with people, I've never stood anybody up, I've been stood up once myself by somebody who no longer uses the site, no hard feelings about it either, it wasn't like I drove 50 miles to get there, even if I did I don't think I'd hold a grudge as they got in touch after they stood me up to say sorry...maybe it was for the best anyway...I'm not a sex addict, I'm an internet addict.

in addition , speaking personnally, I never though it a good idea to suggest a 3sum or somesuch "fun" to some one i either knew well or little out of the blue without prior indication that the idea might be well accepted..
and that brings us to swing4...here we have a group a people of like mind. seems logical that those who play golf join a golf club...
therefore........
