Read all the books about gilligan,,and the likes...Great reading..."Iceman" is out of this world...
I've just started reading 'The Untouchables' The story of the criminal assets bureau, not a bad read so far but Paul Williams Distain and biase against Gilligan for Veronica Guerins Murder kinda makes it one sided so far, Not that I condone Gilligan etc, just would prefer if it was a more balanced read.
Great thread, Horneygirl. Some very interesting replies along the way...
I'm heading off to Ibiza tomorrow for a week's holiday with friends who live there. I'm looking forward to getting some reading done, and two books which are definetely coming with me are:
Among The Bohemians - Experiments In Living 1900-1939 by Virginia Nicholson
Handy Andy by Samuel Lover
The latter is a classic piece of Irish comedy (I've already read bits of it) and I've wondered whether the practice of calling a clumsy oaf "Handy Andy" came about as a result of this book. I think it is very likely, but cannot find proof anywhere.
Anyway, that's my entertainment.
Heartiest Regards
Cool Hand
