The posters are up, the hopeful candidates will be knocking on your door. Don't ask them about the economy ..they havn't a clue. Take the opportunity to ask them thier and their party's views on 1- what constitutes a family group in 21st century Ireland 2- rights for co-habiting couples 3- same sex marriage (remember same sex marriage is available up in Northern Ireland. 4-what are they at with the proposed blasphemous libel legislation. They are likely to have prepared answers on local issues and the economy so these questions should catch them on the hop. Remember to vote and exercise your democratic the politicians & political parties a little.
Only one question I will be asking "are you fianna fail" If answer yes door will be closed .Any one else will be given the chance to speak .
3- same sex marriage (remember same sex marriage is available up in Northern Ireland. Not strictly true, a same sex civil partnership is available in N Ireland, but it is not afforded the same status as opposite sex marrige, despite all the legislation passed re bias against the LGBT communtiy, Ireland both North and South still lives in the dark age.
