The Jingle Balls & Naughty Angels Christmas Appeal
in support of Irish Cancer Charities.
This post is to let members know about the appeal & how to access the donation website
The appeal, will run for the month of December, including the 12 days of Christmas, closing on 6th January 2010.
This appeal follows on from a forum post Cancer
in which many members shared their experiences of cancer & others expressed a desire to do something positive for all those affected by Cancer, this appeal is intended to organize a donation from
like minded friends,
all we ask is a small donation, 2 euro (minimum).
There are 4 charities chosen,
Breast Cancer Ireland , The Hospice Association & 2 lesser known charities LauraLynn Sunshine Homes and LARCC
the reason for these 4 is simply;
Breast ... because we love our ladies;
Hospice ... for the support, care & love they provide in the final days to all affected by cancer;
LauraLynn ... in memory of the children affected by cancer;
LARCC ... for being a listening ear .
We hope to raise at least 500 euro for each charity.
If possible please make a small donation to each rather than 1 large donation to one.
On the mycharity website there is a " Sponsor me now" page for each of the organisations & more information about each charity is available there.
This appeal is not solely for members of Swing so please ask your non Swing friends to support the appeal, & via it is also possible to link the these pages to your bebo or facebook pages
Remember to let your friends on this site know about the appeal.
All donations are clearly shown on the donation pages & the donations go directly to the Charities (Jingle Balls & Naughty Angels do not handle any of the money).

1- select sponsor a friend
2- enter "jingle balls" in the search window
3- select the charity you want to donate to ( the 4 pages will be listed)
On each page there is a "sponsor me now" option.
To make a donation you will temporarily have to register with .... this information is not available to "Jingle Balls"
All donations can be made anonymously, but please
do leave a comment with your donation.

awww piggy sorry to hear that my brother in law has it i will keep your mam in my prayers along with my brother in law and all who are suffering from that horrible sickness

I would like to thank Piggy & others that have shared their story & also those that offered support to them.
Some ask what has this & some other threads got to do with Swinging?
Absoluting nothing! But it does show we care about our friends.... Even if most of them are virtual friends & it also shows Swingers think about more than sex.

As an ex-sufferer from Cancer, am now cured, I hope despite I still smoke.
Please support this worthy cause, no matter how little you can manage, trust me it all helps, we all know there is a recession on and that we all have too tighten our belts (no pun intended) me included.
Yes, there are numerous charities out there seeking help and yes we all donate on an individual basis.
But lets show our true colours, for the sake of of a few Euro and show your support, too worthy causes.

In fairness are we not all affected? I not going to sound as If I am promoting this thread! But in reality " I am " I am very happy to post a pic of the scars on my back and chest, the results of cancer, but I doubt that people would like to see!
Swing4 is a community, and I am darn sure some will be hit by the DREADED C word, as I was, but thankfully through charitable donations, we where all helped.......

I watched my father waste away to a shadow of himself due to this dreaded disease and I held his hand and sang to him as he passed......please support this very worthwhile cause every cent brings us closer to a cure and helps those suffering and their loved ones so much......................

A big thank you to all that supported this campaign, in particuliar I would like to thank admin for all their help & assistance. Even though this Christmas campaign is over, it is still possible to donate directly to many of the Irish Charities offering support, help & assistence to cancer patientaand their families.
