Too many to pick just one, but in keeping with the Neil Young theme, I pick Cinnamon Girl.
Love bites by Def Leppard
How Great Thou Art - Elvis
Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end every time I hear it.
One U2 there are a thousand more but when i am put into the ground that will defo be played unless somebody decides to fuck with me one last time and stick Cheesney Hawks into the cd palyer as they lower me down.:haha:
Hmmmmm This is a tricky one.
All Time favourite would be 'a-Ha' the sun always shines on TV'
As for what song when they lower me 6 foot under?
Queen 'Don't stop me now'(the full unedited version...feckin radio stations always play the chopped version)
Across the evening sky, all the birds are leaving
But how can they know it's time for them to go?
Before the winter fire, I will still be dreaming
I have no thought of time
For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
Sad, deserted shore, your fickle friends are leaving
Ah, but then you know it's time for them to go
But I will still be here, I have no thought of leaving
I do not count the time
For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
And I am not alone while my love is near me
I know it will be so until it's time to go
So come the storms of winter and then the birds in spring again
I have no fear of time
For who knows how my love grows?
And who knows where the time goes?
Who Knows Where The Time Goes - Sandy Denny
This is mine... I would have given anything to see Sandy live but she died in '78. I have loved this song since the first time I heard it... probably not long after she died.... I think my brother in law put it on a compilation tape for me.
I begged a talented musical friend to sing it for me at one of her gigs back in Birmingham many years ago... her voice was amazing and of the same quality as Sandy Denny... it was like a re-incarnation... I stood at the side of the stage with tears pouring down my face... my friend broke on the last line and we grinned at each other through the tears.
And yes I would be more than happy for it to be my final song.
