hi all, sean here. ive been wondering why in ireland we dont have any dedicated "swinging clubs"? in the uk there are plenty and they're a good fun as well as the usual outcome, lol. i think an enterprise like this in perhaps dublin or another large city might be a great idea as well as a good earner. does anybody know if there is perhaps a law against this or to whom i should address the problem? or has nobody just gone ahead and "done it"? i apologise in advance if i dont reply straight away as those of you know us know that super heros have crap internet packages! i look forward to your responces. sean
People have tried before but after constant hassle from the press and the picket lines outside they all folded. Ireland just too small and people like to be private about what they get upto for a club to last over here. You have to remember the UK has a big population so can carry a few clubs. There enough private parties and private venues for most people i think, and sure the UK is only a hop away thanks to budget airlines, so people can travel if they feel the need to visit a club. I know a few people who travel to the UK now and then for club visits. I would imagine its more the fear of ending up in the Sunday Newspapers than the courts that is putting people off.
The ideal place would be a big country house with a long driveway and security on the gates like eyes wide shut. Get the taxis to ferry you in. By the way there is a swing sauna club going down this part of the country but I don't this it is attracting many couples.
[b:d94248de69]cpeire there was a review put up bout that sauna club on a thread before[/b:d94248de69], Maltesers wrote: Sauna club15th Nov 2010 - 9:51am Went to couples night on Sat. Paid €30...after driving 4hrs to get there and an overnight hotel stay + drinks etc. The problem is ... the sauna club owners are touting for business from the swinger community ... but at the same time have to keep their existing clientele happy. So whilst it was sold to us as a 'couples only' night, when we got there we found out otherwise. End result...having to share the sauna and all the amenities with other single males ...quiet, reserved, 50+ y.o., pot bellied, white-haired individuals who spent most of their time walking about in their white towels!! So thank you very much...but no thanks. Fantastic venue...bold move. So to answer your question ...I guess if you're a mature, gay or bi-single male...this is definitely the place for you...which is what it is after all...lads...it's a gay venue. [b:d94248de69]As regards ppl opening swing clubs im afraid if you read a certain sunday paper north of the border this week, you will see unfortunatly how times and ppls minds have not changed regarding the swingworld,Im not even going to mention their name here and give them free publicity[/b:d94248de69]
Suppose there might be a problem getting any place licensed here. Now we all know a lot of irish people like a drink or two . The policy of bring your own that they have over in the Uk clubs mightn't go down too well here. Might have something to do with it
well ta for your responses. ive heard about the sauna room down the country. guess we shall just have to wait and see how that takes shape. might inquire about a set up in northern ireland. i just think its a really good idea. thanks folks. sean

Might sound like a plan - but that's also been tried - and found itself busted into the press this past month too.
While-ever the old saying 'sex sells...' is true, there's always going to be some low-life prepared to infiltrate 'private clubs' associated with the lifestyle and 'expose' the participants.
Another old saying is still true - "Nothing much changes". Unfortunately!

Alas This may still be a distant Nirvana, there is a section of society that like to turn the lights off at night and grunt and fumble theyre way through a mundane sexual existence and are happy to stay in that limbo due to our distant now, but sadly still reasonating sexual guilt enforced past, I like to think Us that swing have the good fortoune to be sexually liberated within the confines of our commuinity, but like all things that are classed left field of the norm we'll remained looked down upon or in a 'qware' awkward glance by those that like to think pseudo puritan attitudes in defence of Irelands moral fabric is a meer added benefit in theyre quest to sell they're sorry excuses for print media. Like Martin Luther King once said, 'I have a dream.....' But unfortounately for the time being, it looks like its restrained to being a Pipe one. T
The problem i don't think is so much from a legal point of view but i don't know all the technicalities on that. The problem is more that these venues will be prevented from remaining open not by joe public who probably don't care and have bigger issues on their mind like for example will i still have a job in six months time, how will i pay the mortgage etc those are the issue of the day for most people in the times we find ourselves in, even if i wasn't on here i wouldn't care if someone had opened a swingers club and wouldn't see it as any of my business whatsoever what people do in their private lives. It is the gutter press who will not allow places like this either to open in the first place or to remain open not because they're on the moral high ground or anything (although they may claim to be) but simply because they know it will sell newspapers & that it all is about and they don't care whose life they ruin in the process.
