For many Swinging is a form of escapism, so the meeting, the dressing up,the chat, the flirting and finally a move to a strange (hotel) bed is all part of the escape/fantasy. I picked this upfrom another thread, am sure Alan won't mind me using it to pose a question.. Is swinging really a form of escapism?... In all honestly if I thought for one moment I was used swinging to escape from anything in my private life I would have stopped a long time ago.. For me swinging is sharing pleasureable experiences with likeminded people, fantasys and acting them out in my opinon are not the same as escapism, they are simply what they are fantasys, that I chose to act out.
Another great post Virgo. . . That said. . . We All use the site for various reasons. I am not going too divulge my reasons for being on here, nor would I expect others to do so either. I know that is not what your asking us to do. But in essence YES I do think people use swinging as a form of escapism, but does that matter? I joined the site about 2 years ago, purely by accident, having been chatting with someone on a social networking site, who recommended it, i became hooked ever since, these days I prefer here the forums, but thats just me. I have had some great meets off here and made some great friends, that in itself is important. . . Jeez I am waffling now sad. Fullstop. . .
Is fantasy not a form of escapeism? But not everyone gets to fulfill their fantasy ... Through Swing4 we may get to. For me in the begining it was an escape, now it is part of who I am. Similiar tn Happy I have made great friends & had wonderful meets through here.
Yes it is a form of escapism, as it gives people a chance to break free from their daily life and experiance something different to the norm.
Is not escapism running away from or not facing reality ,or the pain reality is causing.I imagine if i use the pleasure or joys swinging to take away the pain of whats going on in my life then its a form of escapism,, if i am facing up to life and use swinging for the pleasure it brings then its pure enjoyment

Some people use it as an escape from reality, whether its from pain in their life or just to beat the boredom of everyday life. So surely what ever reason they do it for they get pleasure from it even if only for a short period. Is there anything wrong with that form of escapism?
Now please dont think I'm being flippant, but I have to escape to swingbolt
Oh no you dont long get back here and finish the job you started lol
:giggle:..i'm not like those celtic tiger builders...I never walk out on a job until everything is laid
Everything long??? or everyone???
well ..erm...everyone....even if it kills me
That what we like to hear, a man willing to sacrifice his life for the cause lol
I believe for many Swinging can be a form of escapism, so the chase, the anticipation, the dressing up, the meeting, the chatting, the flirting and finally the fun. Is it escape, fantasy or another side of who we are? The side the normal world & its social strictures may not be comfortable with.
