Surefire ways to annoy a girl on swing!
10. Do not ask to see our pics. After a decent length conversation you could offer to show us yours. If we accept to see them, it is reasonable then to ask for us to show you ours.
This is the one post i agree with most, sick of been asked to show our pics when most of those who ask dont have any pics themself.
While I agree with almost all of the points raised so far on this thread - two matters arising are:
a] "bring something ..."
maybe more relevant if this was a regular dating site.
or the visit was between folks who've already become friends.
Picking gifts for others is fraught with pitfalls
- even when you know them well.
b] "Condoms ..."
Everyone is responsible for their own health and safety -
BOTH parties should have their supplies to hand.
Better safe than sorry.

Marie, it's just a gesture I mean. A guy recently brought 2 purple snacks for us to have with our coffee (which I provided and made) - it cost next to nothing and yet I appreciated it!
As for condoms, of course both parties should have them and I always do, but again, I think it's more gentlemanly for a guy to bring them and wear his own.
I don't accept that it's more suitable for a civilian date (one of them would have to wait weeks before getting into my knickers - and I'd expect a hell of a lot more than a purple snack!). I have had guys on this site come around to my house, drink my wine, use my condoms, sweat on my sheets, etc. - as I changed the sheets & cleaned up after them, I just feel like a sap. A thoughtful gesture is all I'm talking about here.

I have to admit to being with Marie on her points.
Do I mind that I might make the coffee he drink??, do I mind that I paid for the candles I light? do I mind that I have to wash he sheets we have used afterwards? do i mind that he is eating the food i perpared?????? NO.....why?....because everything I have done is to make the experience more pleasurable for myself.
If he arrived 'empty handed'....would i feel used?.....no
If he drank the bottle of wine I offered him a drink out of...would i mind?....no.....I offered it in first place.
I believe respect for me...my home...what time and attention is worth more than any 'gentlemanly' gesture.

Women also meet for lots of different reasons to.....including the purely physical act. Gifts might not be appropriate if this is the case
There has to be a connection, be it emotional, intellectual or purely physical.
I also never met locally, so I felt that if someone was going to drive for an hour or two or indeed 5 hrs to me, that the least I could do was value their time and commitment to meet.
Personally I feel that all I was looking for here was my sexual needs met, therefore once I had respect, that was all I needed from my meets.(other than a good time of course)

Fair enough Des and Marie - it'd be a dull world if all of us thought the same I guess! I would have every sympathy for the girls and the complaints they have, I would hate to be a girl on this site and be constantly hassled in the ways they have described. Some of the behaviour I have witnessed from fellow single guys in the chatrooms has left me flabbergasted, dumbfounded, laughing/weeping into my keyboard and considering a vow of celibacy!:lol2:
I find it interesting the contrasting experiences that different people have on this site: for couples/females it seems to be a bombardment of cock pics and whispers. My own experience as a single guy is completely different, ie. a deathly silence, all quiet on the Western Front.:yawn:

Titan advised on the General Conduct On Site thread that the more effort you put into genuinely getting to know people the more you will get out of the site. I would have to hold my hand up and say I 've been a little bit lazy on this score and as a result I have ended up isolated and bored. This is mostly due to shyness on my part and I get the feeling there is a small but committed band of genuine single guys in a similar position on this site. Meet and greets are a great idea in theory but most meets have a waiting list of single guys a mile long.
Other threads have prescribed the chatroom as a remedy to the single guy stigma. But I'd agree with igziabeher, it's hard to stand out in the crowded chatrooms.
It can be very hard to engage with people in chat... I mean what to talk about? It's a very thin line between getting to know you chit chat and asking people for details they would rather not reveal (where they are from, were they working today etc.) Asking where they are from seems to be a no no. So what then... the weather?
