hi vanity i am sadden to see the mods that will go out of their way to help are gone and who put a lot of work in to make sure that the site was fair and that if u need some advice you could ask 2 mods in particular who have been on this site a lot longer then some who have manners and respect for themselves and others on site they were fair .i been on this site for the last 6 to 7 years and have seen people come and go well Admin i hope you knew what your were doing as these mods were loyal to the site.i hope that i will not get a brush off for writing this but with out us peeps and i mean all the people who make up this site you would have no site.i am going to miss these mods as they were easy to chat to and would include u in the chat as some on here exclude others and some times take over the chat in the room i just feel that it is a loss

It's great to see that members on the site have a passion and care about the Moderator site staff. However I think we should respect any one that has left the team with some privacy, they would have all been spoken to by Admin and given a full explanation about the changes.
All of the Moderators do a fantastic job, thumbs up from me
i feel that some had no choice but leave as they have a lot of respect for themselves and the people who they served on this site i just hope the site is able to lose these people because who moderates the moderate i just feel that we as the people who are on the site should be able to have a say on who becomes a mod like a VOTING system as this would be a fair if i offend anyone i don't mean too as i feel so strong about what is happening on the site. we are all meant to be adults on here but some times it feels like a crèche. thank you for letting me voice my opinion

Changes to the Moderator team would always be dealt with in a professional manner, after-all the site is owned by a professional company.
Appointing a Moderator is a difficult decision. Using a voting system is a good idea but there's many other things that have to be taken into consideration by Admin with regards to the business aspect of the site. An ideal candidate has to be a professional representative with good customer service and communicational skill-sets, be available daily, and most importantly gel into the current team. Voting systems can be considered a popularity contest which could cause friction. Having said that, it's healthy to discuss these things so thanks for bringing this up

Voting systems can be considered a popularity contest well i am sorry to say that even with out this there is a popularity contest on here i am sorry to say as the mods that left had all this and more ok this is the last thing i going to write on the subject as the people who knew these people know how they worked all i can say is they be a loss to the site

well said laoiscpl you have said what a lot of people want to say but are afriad in case there is a black mark on them well i don't think we should be afriad to speak out as with out people the site would not thrive
I was hesitant to post on this thread but as a mod I feel I have to. I applied to be a moderator here because I wanted to give something back and felt I had something to offer as part of the team. It's very much a team effort and we all have different things we are better at but I have never seen a mod refuse to help anyone and if I did I would have no issue reporting them to admin myself. As a mod I treat everyone here the same and don't show favouritism to members I know. If anyone has an issue with a mod on site you have the facility to contact admin and discuss this with them in private. I really do feel this is yet another mod bashing thread and personally I find it disrespectful to the remaining mods. I understand that people here have an opinion and you are well entitled to that and the mods that have gone will be missed by members and mods alike.
If someone gets an abusive whisper or sees something wrong on site the [b:20e8e74c37]report abuse [/b:20e8e74c37]function is there for that. There won't always be a mod on site or in chat but someone will look into it as soon as there is . We all of us have to take responsibility for making the site better. It's a community and we yes we have clicks and there is politics and not everyone likes everyone but that's life this isn't a fairy tale and we are all adults here and deal with similar situations in day to day life.
I understand that people feel strongly that some mods are no longer members of the team and they are are respected members here but please try to remember the remaining team have feelings and do their best.
I'd just like to say thanks to the mods - past, present and future. As far as I can make out it's a tough, thankless job. I know I personally would be too selfish with my time to do it. So thank you guys, I'm having a great time in the s4i community and it's down to you! Keep up the great work! xxxx
Not sure this is a mod bashing thread myself having read it, not that i would have a problem with people having opinions against the mods on here or anything I have my own opinions on that which I won't go into.
[b:5a324ac166]Catch 22[/b:5a324ac166]
[i:5a324ac166]1)A situation in which a desired outcome or solution is impossible to attain because of a set of inherently illogical rules or conditions.
2) A contradictory or self-defeating course of action.[/i:5a324ac166]
I normally don't comment on threads like this due to the above,if I do not to comment I could be seen as assuming I was above reproach and this topic didn't warrant my attention, or that expressing my personal opinion would be followed by comments along the line of 'Oh no your not the problem its someone else altogether/ 'ah yeah typical comment from a mod' etc, so I'm damned if I do or damned if I don't.
I feel strongly about the recent opinions that have been discussed before this post and I will honestly and frankly give my thoughts on the whole thing.
Being a member here firstly and a Mod secondly, I'm saddened to learn that some mods are viewed to be unapproachable, and even worse that we would black mark certain folks because of clashes of personalities or other personal reasons (though in most cases I imagine it is frustration and incomprehensibility that a mod might be so bold as to impose a particular site rule on individuals, possibly due to an assumed 'terms' with the same mod,) and in logical assumptions getting wrists slapped equates to being so called 'black marked'.
**that's where the Impartiality element of being a Mod comes into play, same rules for everyone!
Personally I can only comment on my motivations as a Mod and I've always acted in what I've felt is a fair and impartial manner, I like to think I have a good sense of fairness, and I'm always there to hear any ones side of a site related issue if they have approached me to date, if for any reasons I have made it known I cannot deal with the matter at the time, its generally because of good reason and I always make a point of following it up with the member when it warrants doing so.
I welcome anyone that thinks differently to my judgement and actions in my moderation to contact me directly or in preference contact admin(in fact the same protocol would apply to all mods), I'm only human after all, and like everyone else open to criticism in a fair and balanced light.
As for any breaches of trust some of you may have felt you had from a Mod regarding private site related matters I would suggest the same, this is after all a business and the customers have all they re rights clearly outlined in the sites AUP, and like every business, the propetiers primary interest is the satisfaction its customers get from the service they signed up for.
So the next time its assumed that our actions(mods)are personally motivated, and the star is used to garner some sort of pseudo Kudos, think about this,
I come on here to enjoy this site and all the fun and enjoyment it provides, true I don't be on as much of late as things have taken a certain turn in life with me, and I don't dedicate as much time to it as I may have had in the past, but when I am on, I'm here to help in my capacity as a moderator, where I can, and I do so as I love the swing lifestyle and want the other members of the site to equally enjoy they're experiences. (and not have to put up with the nonsense that I witness on other similar sites that have no moderation) but primarily I'm here to enjoy myself chatting and interacting with like minded people. just like everyone else.
Regarding the election system of mods at the moment, like every system of election some will find issue with it, and regardless of its method of decision, are not all forms of election through vote a popularity contest? which leads to an even tougher decision process when it comes time for the site owners on who to entrust with keeping the place balanced and smoothly ran, when making the final call on selecting those suitable.
No doubt there will be those that disagree with my opinion, and what I have just said, and your perfectly entitled to your opinion, but a like a wise old relative of mine used to say, Opinions are like A**holes, everybody's got one. For those that agree with me, there will be as many that don't.
When we get sidetracked by things like this, surely it takes the fun side of the site out of it for everyone?
Yours Respectfully,
Titan79
o my o my did i say this was a mod bashing tread i did not and i wish that people would not take offence what i said is my opinion

Hi all
its the baba here and for what its worth I'm throwing my bit into the pot. The whole thread i think has been misread and there is no mod head hunting on here. The thread for me is the way mods are elected not how they perform,if a mod does not come up to standard get rid of him/her if they are keep them the site needs good mods to keep us peeps in line I've no probs with that. But and here is the but mods are elected by mods and it is mostly friends of friends that become the mod. This should be stopped and names should be put forward to any 1 on site who wants to be a mod and let the mods then chose a peep who would be suitable for the position. There cant be an election type voting system for election due to the fact if Joe soap puts his/her name forward and doesn't get elected they will think that they are not liked and may be upset because of this. But at least they have a chance of becoming a mod.
I agree that not every 1 is capable of becoming a mod but they should be allowed to put their name forward for election and good reason given for not been elected.
2 mods have answered this thread 2 mods that i respect and have great admiration for in fact I've great admiration for all the mods on here their job is not easy but why have you gone on the offensive to the thread there is no need its just about how mods are elected nothing else.
As for clicks well yes there are buckets of them peeps and mods included this is a fact of life on s4i and will never change but this is choice and opinion made by peeps and mods alike ie what colour your hair is how tall you are if you smoke if you don't smoke if you re over 40 or under 30, if your male if your female if your a tv or gay, every 1 has their own opinion on what they are looking for here and that must be respected.
so clicks are here to stay its natural and healthy.
Anyway that's me finished ive run out of steam phew me fingers hurt now lol
So loves ya lots every 1 keep chattin keep lovin and keep your heads down
ally aka clyde hubby of the lovely bonny aks baba
PS women love to see men have fun and then stop them
I would echo alot of what the other two mods have said. I applied as i wanted to help people and didnt like the abuse that some people had to take in chat and wanted to try and do something about it.
Its a thankless job really, but having seen other sites implode because they are not moderated, its a job i'm happy to do.
Personally i go out of my way to help people if i can and would like to think that i am open to anyone that needs my assistance.
I dont attend most of the social gatherings so have no idea of alot of the cliques / goings on, and that is the way i want to keep it to be honest, as the politics would do my head in, if i was stuck in the middle of it all.
I am here to have fun when i can and to help others as much as i can, and i know that this is the case for all the mods. People gain and loose stars for a number of reasons, some of which we dont know or may never know, as its down to the various people and admin to sort that out between themselves.
I too am sorry to see people leave, some of which i have known for years, but its sadly the nature of the beast sometimes, and everyone needs a break at some stage, but i hope that i will see them again back here or in real civilian life.
My tuppence worth.
Sean
awe titan did i say this i don't think so So the rest of The mod team are window dressing i am sorry you feel you are a window dressing i think you are more like a big teddy bear who loves to be cuddled i hope your soup did not get too cold well there always the microwave to heat it back up look i did not mean for any one to take offence
Bonnyclyde
Hi again
Sean well said you do have a thankless job bonny and myself understands that more than any 1 we have been here a long time and know how the system works. We like many others have had to check peeps who where out of order when no mods where in the room. But titan if you keep blowing on your soup like that you will only end up with cold soup. I think to continue the thread would be ammunition for a banning for an opinion, that's my opinion anyway.
To all the mods on site bonny and I take our hats off to you and thank you for the service you give to every 1 here with your time your effort and enjoyment to keep us all safe and comfortable when chatting in the rooms.
titan you still owe me and bonns a drink when we meet at the next meet and greet and we will keep you to it.
The ally has spoken
Loves ya all peeps peepettes mods and modettes
PS women love to see men have fun and then stop them
NO WHERE ON MY THREAD WAS I BASHING ANY MOD I DID SAY YE WERE DOING YERE JOB AND KEEPING HERE UNDERCONTROL ,I WAS ASKING ABOUT THE STARS AND JUST STATING THAT IF THE SWINGMEETS ARE GONE THIS WILL BE A LOSS TO THE SITE BIG TIME WITH ALL THE WORK THAT GOES INTO ORGANISING THEM AND THESE MEETS BRING FUN AND PEOPLE FEEL SAFE TO ATTEND KNOWN THEIR PRIVACY IS PROTECTED IM SURE ADMIN KNOWS WHO IS OR ISNT DOING THE WORK THEY EXPECT ITS QUIET SAD PEOPLE CANT VOICE THERE OPIONION WITHOUT AN ARGUEMENT
Van the swingmeets account is still here and as far as I am aware the meets will still happen. You don't need to be a mod to organise a meet and greet and many non mod members organise great nights out.
In my opinion the reason we haven't been seeing as many meet and greets is because of the huge amount of work involved and people are aware that there is financial pressure on everyone of late and they just can't afford to attend them all.
