Freshly washed floors and sherry trifile..was(and still is) last thing my Mam did on Christmas Eve..I follow that tradition in our house even though no one eats the trifile it ends up untouched and in the bin a few days later.....But just brings back that warm fuzzy excited feeling I had as a wee one!!!!:giggle::giggle:

the smell of coal smoke in the air always conjures up a christmas morning memory from my childhood.......as does the smell of Harveys Bristol Cream sherry..........
The smell of lavender floor polish reminds me of Christmas eve, my nana used to make me and my brother polish the floors with it every Christmas eve...child labour but she made up for it with a ham sandwich and money:grin:
The church candles & the insense midnight mass & returning home to the smell of the just boiled ham
children writing there list for santa and the smell of ham and stuffing yummie
