I was told of Andy's death this morning, cant believe it at a loss for words at the minute.

Thanks all for your thoughts and sympathy. It all came really quickly at the end, which itself is a blessing. He was up and pottering around over the weekend, so I'm glad that it was only the last few hours yesterday that he needed to be in hospital (as a typical man he hated hospitals and was a terrible patient!!)
To let you all know, there will not be a funeral as it was Andy's wish that his body be donated to medical science. This has been arranged and his remains are being removed to University College Dublin today.
I would however like to arrange a damn good piss up as that is also what he would have wanted. I'm thinking maybe a week on Saturday (as I know many of you will be off to the wilds of Cavan this weekend!!!)
So if you want to come and have a few to remember him (whether you met him or only chatted) keep the 28th free and watch this space for arragements.
Thanks to you all for helping keep me sane over these last few weeks.... and I know you will help do the same in the coming weeks as well.

Will remember him for his witty banter and boundless wealth of facts and knowledge, in fact would have to say there wasn't a lot he didn't know, especially in his earlier Forum bouts. A wise man he was.

jax you already knew what you and andy (my brother from another mother) mean to us,,we have had the very good fortune to spend many a day-evening,n night in your company,which always such a good laugh,great conversations,and the best of company..
for this we will be always greatfull,and cherish these fond times we shared together..
nothing we write hear will make any odds to the bigger picture that a good guy has left before his time,and will leave a huge hole in a lot of peoples lives,,

Heard about this while at work this morning and still sinking in. 'Mr Bags' ..was a gent and a great guy, many the night of merriment he gave us on here. My thoughts and condolences Jax.:therethere:

Jax so sorry to hear of such a tragedy, our thougths are with you and your family at this time, never had the pleasure of meeting you guys, but Andy has left us all with some wonderful memories of the music and quiz nights and he will be very sadly missed.
May he rest in peace and make the people around him smile as he always did on the site R.I.P. His shell may be gone, but his memory will live with us all for a very long time.
