What do you value most in Relationships and Friendships?
For me, the two most important values a person can bring to any sort of a relationship or friendship, is respect and honesty..
Respect especialy should never be feigned, rather it should be earned, both through action and word.
Honesty and the ability to be yourself, while at the same time taking into account the other persons views, feeling, opinons ect.. is the key to a good friendship.
I feel that without these two key elements, you are wasting each others time.
:Phonesty has been the key factor in our relationship anyone that knows us can tell we are still madly in love with each other without sounding soppy we clicked from the moment we met ,even tho mrs tussey was told by a number off my ex,s that i didnt have a heart but a swinging brick ,she trusted me from the very start and i have never broken that and know i never will ,i can say hand on heart i have never lied to her in any shape or form, even tho ive had children from previous relationships none of my ex,s know anything much about me ,while mrs tussey knew me heart and soul within days off us meeting ,which even surprised me ,now we do have our moments like everyone else but i think honesty between us .is the best component in our long and happy relationship and the fact that we are best friends :smoke::inlove:
The best friend I have in this world is so because she not only allows me to be myself and be completely unguarded without fear of being judged, but she loves me for all of that.
In fact she's the only person who knows I'm on this site apart from other members.
I think as others have said honesty would be one of the most important things to me in both friendships and relationships , sometimes in friendships being honest isnt always the easiest thing to do as sometimes the truth can be painful however a true friend will understand this , also regarding relationships you have to be honest , teling someone what you think they want to hear only makes a situation 10 times worse , you may feel like your protecting the person but in fact it just prolongs the agony .
ps great to have you back addies
Total honesty and armfuls of chocolate.
its great craic ,
working off all those calories.
mutual respect and understanding,
Just being yourself and feeling comfortable in their company.
Having the same warped sense of humour helps too.
my very own firelog.
Friendship to me is someone that allows you to be you withouth judgement or effort to reform you, yet they are not afraid to knock you down to earth if you forget who you are.
I have a great friend on Here and she shall be a friend for Life.
Relationship wise, I think complete openness is essential, no matter what, if you cant be honest with each other yer not up to much.
Boring Ego again as usual...
Love addies....
Hello Frank,
Here are two defintions of 'ego'...
a. An exaggerated sense of self-importance; conceit.
b. Appropriate pride in oneself; self-esteem.
Now I gather from your opinon of me, that you go with A, well Frank dear , I know quite a few people personaly from this site, plus I have met many others, and I am sure they will confirm I am extremley far removed from A..
However B in my own opinon sums me up fairly well, pride in myself , the ability to us ethis not to offend others, oh and self-esteem, giving me the confidence to put forth my opinons, enjoy banter between other members, without resorting to pathetic childish remarks, suitable only for the play-ground..
So Frank I suggest if my ramblings here upset you so much , use the ignore button, or grow up!
well fab you never said a truer word well said
Its only liars who lose me as a friend! coz i cant be doin with it when people say one thing and mean something totally different..absolutely no need for it.. my motto:: TELL IT LIKE IT IS!
ohh p.s. thank you ger and deez... :giggle:

Wrote this back on page 14 still feel it is key elements to good relationships and friendships.
friendship...its like a warm fire and a hot drink on a cold winters night. A good friend is a friend for life...anything else is a benefit.
