We have just discovered that we can right click on any profile picture and save it and mail it or do just about anything we want with it. We don't think this is a good thing and it has stopped us from sharing our private pictures as we would have no control over what happens them. just thought this may be of interest to admin. Is there any way this can be prevented as we know from other sites you need permission to right click and save.?
I understand your concerns completely, but the right click function even if blocked is useless as it can be bypassed and those wishing to copy images will find a way of doing so, unfortunately sad
All photos on S4I are crossed with the brand name of the site at the bottom of each photo and watermarked with the username across the middle of the photo which wouldn't leave the person copying the photos much use for them.
It is also in the terms and conditions that photos must not be used elsewhere.

I personally am very careful who I share my photos with and only give 24hour access, if I'm not 100% sure about the person then I don't show facial photos until I am. (keep facial photos in a separate album). You can also delete an invitation to view your photos that you have sent out. kiss
Happened to have been chatting to a newish Site member a few days ago, they don't even be in the Chatroom actually, and in fact they aren't even that long on the site, but 1 good tip they mentionned was that the way they operate is that they never give out face pics - just show face on live cam. I just thought that was quite clever. Personally, have a zillion face pics 'cuz look quite different in each of them lol, but think might be doing something like that cam idea anymore. Lack of discretion and total dis-respect is purely stupid and silly and careless and could be dangerous without realizing it - where there may be a lot more people such as family members involved that are affected by this. God have mercy on ye for doin' something so cruel in such bad taste .... Ass-kicking tiiime .... poke:scared::taz:whip :boxing::sparring:duel:kick:
Just to add to amber's comments, most reputable sites now a days will refuse submitted images which posses any kind of watermark, but alas it doesn't stop people from trying.

Images from a webcam can be captured as easily as still images on a profile - something worth remembering!
There is nothing you can do to protect images or webcam screen grabs. We ASSUME that our pictures WILL be copied and stored by people and operate on that basis. We also assume that most people are rubbish at internet security. We don't keep face pics on the site, only exchanging them by private email. I'll just add two other warnings: Many people think they can discreetly show you quick pictures as their icon in msn or messenger, what they don't realise is that all those little pics get cached on ones computer. They do under Mac OSX anyway and I assume Windows 7 is the same. I would have loads of them except I clean up very often. This is one of my favourite true stories: Recently a fella on another site who claimed they were just getting started as a couple sent us a picture of his really delicious looking wife, we doubt she knew about it. He was trying to be very cagey and frankly we were ready to drop them for giving us the run around anyway. Problem was he took the picture and sent it almost immediately from his iPhone4. When I opened the picture my MacBook popped up a little window asking if I'd like to locate this picture and it then proceeded to show me exactly where this guy's front door was in a quiet little Irish village on Google Street View, based on the iPhones GPS. Lucky he sent it to us and not someone dangerous. Must say, we were tempted to round up a few people and throw him a surprise party! Be careful people, but don't be deluded. Learn how to use your friggin' computers.
