I'd be interested in the opinion that the women on this site have on this article? Some of you may have read it already or heard of the fuss it caused and the reaction to it namely to the journalist who wrote it and the comments she got as a result.

good for her is what i say an the girls that are jealous of her, i believe that it is their own insecutities that make them so resentfull of her good fortune , i would have returned a note to the captain thanking him for his generosity an asked if he would like to introduce me to the mile high club hump

Stig i have to say alot of what that lady said is very true.I have had 2 long relo`s in my life one guy wouldnt walk out with me unless i wore makeup,hair done perfect and dressed to nines, but would go mad at anyone that showed me attention. Sec guy wanted me to stay at home,wear trackies and look my worse all the time as he didnt trust me to go out alone looking well. Since i joined this site i have realised that i am fairly attractive to alot of men and women which at first shocked its not all its cracked up to be as that lady has pointed out.I have been treated fairly badly by ladies and men on this site for no other reason than their insecurities.I have stopped doin single meets as im tired of been stood up or canceled on cause guys find me INTIMIDATING a word i have heard way too often lately. I am a very confident person but because of the life i have had and not cause of how i times a guy has said to me after a meet "u are actually sound" is expect me to be someone stuck up there own ass,which alot on here will tell u im not at all. Its the typical judging a book by its cover.

but in fairness....in this society that bases ones worth in appearence & wealth I can see why she feels the way she does. I think both men and woman are intimidated but someone who is extremely good-looking or wealthy but it steams from their own insecurities..nothing to do with the person the anger is geared at. If you are rasied to have self-worth and the believe NO ONE is any better than you then i don't think you will have a problem with these people. On the flip-side there are some people that are concidered very good-looking and have had this problem but its due to their feeling of superiourity...there are a few around here innocent

but the sad thing is they are the only ones feeling it lol

I dont think it has anything to do with her looks, as to be honest she is not the best looking woman i have ever seen, i think it has more to do with her overly high opion of herself. There are women around who are what any one would term as beautiful and their female friends have no issue with their blokes been around them as they dont think they are gods gift to the world. If she cant wait for grey hair and wrinkles stop dying her hair, if she stopped been so conseted (sorry for spelling) she may not be treated the way she claims. And no i am not jealous of her cause i am a stunner lol

That article and the first two comments really hit the nail on the head.
For me it's not really about whether she is pretty or not, far more terrifying is her belief that every single thing, good or bad, that happens to her is on the basis of her looks. A lot has been said elsewhere around the web about how delusional this is, but I actually think it's more lazy than anything...
If something bad happens: not getting promoted, losing a friendship etc. she immediately sweeps it into the 'Because of my looks' box, and that's it dealt with, instead of doing the proper soul-searching and self-reflection that comes with finding yourself in the same 'bad' situations over and over again. Put simply, it's just easier to blame everything on her looks rather than put the hard work into thinking critically about what she might need to change.
All I see when I read that article is someone who is emotionally stuck as a teenager - and I feel like that's more cause for pity rather than vitriole.

for myself i'd say that you're a LOT more than fairly attractive smile
