Just as an aside... I have on been on chat for the last two weeks...and all people on this thread...as i see are good moderators and have the interest of the site at heart...(not too interested in the history) and none of you were the subject of my post was a general comment on how best to improve the aspirations and goals of mods in general for a site.
But it is important that you are not a mod for but that makes sense... excuse the pun (different strokes...)

I think the original thread subject has been covered with a slight detour thrown in which gives an insight to the ups and downs of the role.
In summary I'd like to say that its a new mod team, nobody is perfect eevn us admins, but from our end we aim to do what is right at the time and ensure that the mods in place act responsibly, sometimes a nudge is needed and sometimes it isn't, but I do think mods past and present have done well so far.
On that note I'm bringing out the padlock.
