We were in Dublin over the weekend & decided to "refresh" our DVD collection. We brought them back to the shop wgere we purchased most of them but they would only give the 50% refund on a DVD for DVD basis. As the average cost of a DVD there is €50 that meant having to spend €250 minimum to exchange all 10 DVD's. I wasn't in the mood to part with that much cash (must check my family tree for Cavan connections rolleyes ) & they wouldn't take the DVD's & issue us with a credit note so we only exchanged 2 of them. We didn't expect them to just buy the DVD's off us, surely there must be somewhere that will rent DVD's or take them back & let you purchase other items from the same shop??? Or an on line service that allows you to rent rather than buy DVD's???
perhaps you might consider swopping or exchanging your dvd's with swing members ... book swop clubs are common enough so why not adult dvd's. everyone to cover their own postal/delivery costs... or maybe at the next meet & greet might be a better place to swop videos.
:Pfifty yoyos for a dvd feck that is rip off ireland :taz:
Hi Biker, Its been a while since I bought any DVDs but This country is a rip off alright. The Shops in London soho are a far better bet as they do things a lot more cheaper and have a far better selection of stuff.
:-o:crazy:

( TedE Says) hiya bikerduo!!just thought i would throw in an idea,,but have you tried the sunday markets??they sometimes sell dvd,s cheaply, and as they get to know you, you might get them even cheaper, with a bit of haggling!!,,,,er,,em,,so i have been told!!
Surely you can't sell porn at a Sunday market, that wouldn't go down too well, not at my local market anyway....sell them online or in the buy and sell, you're going to lose a lot of money selling them though...yes Ireland is a rip-off for stuff like that, last time I bought a DVD it may have even been 60 euro a good few years ago, I'll never buy porn again, there's enough of it on the internet to keep my eyes busy, it doesn't cost anything and I don't have to stash it anywhere.
Folks....try Vivid Video....they make some good stuff, and last time we bought some we were paying less than a tenner sterling a piece....yes, you may have to pay a little more due to postage, but even so it's gotta be cheaper than the poxy shops here. We never buy anything through Irish websites, they are just as much a rip-off as the shops, even for condoms. Even buying from the USA would be cheaper ffs.
